a little about me
I’m Samantha Jones, a commerce writer and editor, avid track athlete-turned-marathoner, and former horse girl. Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, I attended Drake University and earned a bachelor’s degree in magazine media and news journalism. Now as a commerce editor at Hearst Magazines, I can often be found trying out the latest fashion trends, searching for the best TikTok-approved beauty dupes, or obsessing over the latest running shoe tech.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked for a variety of titles including Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Women’s Health, Better Homes & Gardens, Food and Wine, Real Simple, and more. I’ve pitched, written, and edited commerce content that runs the gamut from quick-hit deals to in-depth product reviews, created and executed content strategies, managed writers and freelancers, and collaborated across every stage of commerce content creation.
